James P. Hynes, '69, '01H, Chairman of the Iona College Board of Trustees Will Be Grand Marshal of the Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade, Sunday, March 17 in Mamaroneck, NY
New Rochelle, NY (January 17, 2013) James P. Hynes, '69, '01H, Chairman of the Iona College Board of Trustees, will be Grand Marshal of the second annual Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 17, on Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck, NY. Mr. Hynes recently attended a ceremony at the Orienta Beach Club where he received the official grand marshal sash from the parade committee.
Iona College President Joseph E. Nyre, Ph.D., Brother Kevin Devlin, and members of the Iona College Pipe Band were also part of the evening's events. In introducing Iona's board chair, Dr. Nyre lauded Mr. Hynes's service to the College, his business accomplishments, and overall impact he has made. "In addition, Jim is a proud Irish-American, born into humble beginnings, in many ways the type of young person Iona was founded to serve. With his values and dedication to hard work, service to community and the society at large, and devotion to family, I can’t think of a better individual to serve as Grand Marshall."
