Announcements and Events

This July Iona staff, alumni and current students began a new tradition by welcoming incoming freshman families to the Iona community at the 2012 Summer Send-Off events! Held in Stamford, CT, New Rochelle, NY and Long Island, NY, the Summer Send-Off events offered new students and their families an opportunity to familiarize themselves with Iona and meet some of their fellow Gaels from the class of 2016. Dr. Vincent Calluzzo, dean of the Hagan School of Business, Kristen Mengold, vice president for advancement & alumni Relations and Kathy Reilly, director of admissions were among the administrators in attendance who welcomed families and answered any questions they had about Iona.

Two of the events were graciously hosted at the homes of two current Iona families. In Stamford, CT, Andrew and Angela Vindigni, Gael Parents' Association board members and parents of Amanda Vindigni '15 kicked off our first event. The New Rochelle event was hosted by Anthony and Jessica Basso, Gael Parents' Association members and parents of Elynore Basso '07, Jessica Basso, '10, Victoria Basso '14, Nicole Basso '16. The Long Island, NY event was held at the beautiful Chateau Briand. A very special thank you to our host families for their generosity! Their hospitality truly made our incoming Gaels feel welcome.
