The Center for Social Research
The Iona College Center for Social Research is a multi-disciplinary institute established by the Departments of Social Work and Sociology. We are located in the Social Work Department on campus.
Purpose: The Center for Social Research was established to actualize the College's mission through service to Iona and the local community. Our purpose is threefold: 1) To represent Iona College as a center of academic learning and research. 2) To bring Iona College and the community together in an effort to better understand the nature of local issues. 3) To provide students and faculty with research opportunities as they apply to issues of community concern. Services: The Center conducts a variety of research projects and can provide a range of services and research techniques including the following:
Fees: The Center for Social Research is a non-profit organization. Any fees charged for projects represent actual costs for services rendered. Research Capability:
Faculty Associates: Dr. Meryl Nadel, Department of Social Work, directs the Center. Faculty members from a number of departments are available for projects, depending upon the expertise required by each study.
