ON-CAMPUS RECRUITING PROCEDURES

Overview:

The On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) program at Iona offers seniors and graduate students the opportunity to interview on-campus for full-time entry level and internship positions

Participation Steps:

1. Attend a Job and Internship Prep Session.
2. Meet with a Career Advisor to critique resume. Once it has been approved, you will begin to receive specific emails regarding companies recruiting on campus.
3. Carefully review On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) postings to determine if you meet the qualifications before applying.
4. Submit your approved resume to Career Development (via email) for positions based on resume submission deadlines for each company.
5. All resumes received by the designated deadline will be submitted to the company for review.
6. The company will review all resumes and select those candidates who they wish to interview.
7. If you have been selected to interview for a particular company you have applied to, you will receive an email from the Career Development office with a subject line reading "you have been selected and the Company name" (i.e. YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED- XYZ COMPANY). This email will contain all necessary information including the on-campus interview date, location, etc. as well as the deadline to sign up for an interview.
8. Prepare for the interview process by reviewing the Interview section on our website, and schedule a mock interview with a Career Advisor (Call for an appointment).

RESUME REFERRAL RECRUITING PROCEDURES

Overview:

The Resume Referral Program is similar to On-Campus Recruiting in that resumes are collected by Career Development for specific postings. Resume Referral is different than OCR in that employers select candidates and interview them at their site at their convenience.

Participation Steps and Details:

1. Attend a Job and Internship Prep Session.
2. Meet with a Career Advisor to critique resume. Once it has been approved, you will begin receive specific emails regarding companies participating in Resume Referral.
3. Submit your approved resume to Career Development (via email) for each position by the resume submission deadlines for each company.
4. The company will review all resumes and pre-select those candidates who they wish to interview. You will either be notified by Career Development or the company directly. If you are selected to interview, you will then be given further instructions.
5. Prepare for the interview process by reviewing the Interview section on our website, and schedule a mock interview with a Career Advisor (Call for an appointment).

*Important Points for On-Campus Recruiting and Resume Referral Programs:

• Please carefully read all job descriptions and internship descriptions before applying. If you apply and are selected, you are expected to sign up for an interview.
• Once you sign up for an interview time slot, you are making a commitment and are expected to keep the appointment. This time slot will be reserved for you and the recruiter from the company will be expecting to meet with you.
