Iona College Core Alcohol and Drug Survey Results

Know the truth about Iona students regarding alcohol and other drug use. These social norms were determined by the CORE Alcohol and Drug Survey, which was administered to Iona students in April 2011. The Core Institute is the leading research, assessment and development organization serving alcohol and drug prevention programs across the nation

• The majority of Iona students report never having driven a car while under the influence.
• More than half of Iona students report drinking 5 or fewer alcoholic drinks per week.
• 96% of Iona students report NEVER having tried Opiates (i.e.: Heroin, Oxicontin, Codeine, Percocet, etc.)
• Over 63% of Iona students report drinking alcohol 2 or FEWER times in the average week.
• The majority of Iona students report that they do not smoke cigarettes.
