Highlights
Resident students in Loftus,
Rice, North and South Halls, in addition to the residents in the Apartments
at Eastchester, all participate in the full Meal Plan
offered at Iona College.
Full Meal Plan participants receive $1,600 per semester. Funds which remain unspent at the end of the fall semester, roll over to the spring semester. Any funds unspent at the end of the spring semester are forfeited. The monies allocated cannot be interchanged between campus and North Avenue accounts. Your Iona College ID card serves as your meal card. Lost cards may be replaced for a $10 fee at the Campus Safety and Security Office located in the Robert LaPenta Student Union Building. The Meal Plan is maintained by the Business Services Office located on the ground floor of Doorley Hall. Please contact Business Services as soon as possible if you lose your ID card so that your Meal Plan can be deactivated. Commuters can also take advantage of Iona meal plan benefits. Participation in Iona College's meal plan program through the meal card system allows you the freedom to purchase what you want, when you want it and where you want it with no restrictions. The meal plan program is a user-friendly declining balance system of purchases and transactions that provides ease of use and ease of mind. What's more, meal plan participation equals savings. Participating students will save on New York state sales tax of 8.375%. Remember, all cash sales are taxable. Joining the meal plan is easy. Meal plan points equal dollars, and can be used at any dining service location. Points can be added in $50.00 increments through the Bursar's office.
Flexible Accounts
The Meal Plan monies are divided into two declining balance flexible accounts. One is to be used in on-campus eateries including: Vitanza Commons, LaPenta Snack Bar, LaPenta Coffee Lounge, and Starbucks at Ryan Library. The second account is to be used at 13 participating restaurants on North Avenue. Full Meal Plan participants will receive $650 per semester to be used at any of the North Avenue vendors.
