Graduating seniors who are members of academic honor societies and graduating seniors who are receiving academic medals from their major departments are expected to attend the Spring Honors Convocation. Honorees may invite family members and loved ones to attend.

No, graduate students do not attend the Spring Honors Convocation. Graduate students who are members of honor societies and graduate students who are academic medal recipients will receive recognition and medals during the Commencement ceremony for graduate students, which will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Graduating seniors who participate in the Convocation must wear caps and gowns. These items must be ordered from Jostens by March 10, 2013, and should be picked up during the Commencement Fair on Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Some honor societies make cords, pins, and other items available to their graduating students. Please speak with the moderator of your honor society if you are interested in purchasing a cord or other item for the Honors Convocation. All cords must be purchased through your honor society.

The Convocation Coordinator emails information to members of honor societies based upon the information she receives from honor society moderators and from the Registrar. If you have not applied for graduation, your name will not appear on the Registrar's list, so you will not receive information regarding Convocation. Please contact your honor society moderator and the Registrar to make sure you have completed all of the necessary steps.
