Services Provided
Health Services is committed to ensuring the best possible care for Iona College students. Students are encouraged to take an active role in making health care decisions and improving their level of wellness. Below are some of the services we provide:
- first aid for injuries;
- evaluation and treatment for health problems ;
- immunizations such as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus and travel vaccines;
- TB screening;
- Influenza vaccination clinic;
- Meningitis vaccination clinic;
- arrangement of referrals to specialists;
- drawing of blood for diagnostic testing;
- Diagnostic testing - throat cultures, pregnancy testing and urine screening are performed in the office. All other tests are sent to an outside laboratory;
- Physical examinations, including sports physicals;
- Wellness promotion programs are offered throughout the year;
- Women’s health, which includes treatment for vaginitis and urinary tract infections, pap tests and other related issues;
- Prevention and treatment of STI’s
