Mission Statement

Our Mission

The Iona College Office of Mission and Ministry is dedicated to making the mission of service, justice, and spirituality conscious in the minds and hearts of the college community. Seeking to build a caring community of faith and compassion, we are inspired by the Catholic tradition and the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice as we promote each of the following areas:

  • Worship, Prayer, and the Spiritual Life
  • Service to the poor and marginalized
  • Education and action for peace and social justice
  • Hospitality to the people of diverse backgrounds
  • Reflection on lived values and beliefs

In faithful collaboration with the Iona Community, we resolve to integrate the mission into the daily life of the college and to educate leaders for the active participation in the church and world of tomorrow.
