Senior Events

Stay connected to all Senior related events through the Facebook group IC Seniors 2013

Senior Events is a Committee made up of members from the Senior Class and an underclassman. The purpose of this committee is to provide networking and training opportunities, as well as promote spirit and traditions, and annual events for the Senior Class during their final academic year. The Committee creates many diverse programs throughout the school year to unite the graduating class together before graduation and begin the transition into members of the vibrant Iona Alumni community.

Some examples of activities sponsored by the Senior Events Committee are Senior community service projects such as Seniors for Seniors, Semi-Formal Gatherings, Career Café, financial workshops, travel and tour trips, senior gatherings to celebrate the end of the year and athletes, and our annual event of Senior Formal. Senior Formal is a highly anticipated evening that occurs at the end of the year where seniors get to celebrate before graduation at a formal sit-down dinner dance.

  • Senior Athlete Celebration - Seniors were recognized at the last home games of both the men's and women's basketball games. An after-party followed with food, music, and drinks.
  • Too Many Nights to Graduation - This annual Semi-Formal event was held in Spellman's Burke lounge where the graduating class danced the night away and reconnected with one another.
  • Homecoming and Family Weekend - The Senior King and Queen were crowned by last year's reigning alumni who held the title. The weekend was filled of many celebrations.
  • Mass of the Holy Spirit and Student Leader Commissioning Ceremony - This mass blesses the student leaders for the year of leadership ahead of them. All are welcomed!
