Spring Weekend

Spring Weekend 2013 Recap:

On Friday, April 26th, we had a throwback party from 9:00 pm - 1:00 am in our gym. It was everything you could ask for in a throwback party—we had people dressed up as if they had walked through a time machine from the 1980s and 1990s, good music, good activities, a graffiti artist and candy that reminded us of our childhood! Students were able to take a break from the chaos that comes with the end of the semester by dressing up and dancing the night away.

The next day, Saturday April 27th, was our second annual Gael Jam. This day time music festival featured our very own student performers, as well as, two professional bands; Christian rock band Unspoken and up and coming country group Fillmore. During the music we had a mini-carnival that included different activities such as a photo booth, caricature artists, stuff-a-bear, a mechanical bull and a Euro-jump! Students were overjoyed with all the activity, free BBQ and the beautiful weather. We even were able to provide a beer garden for our Gaels that are 21 and up. Overall, our second annual Gael Jam featuring Heritage Fest was a huge success and we look forward to what next year has to offer.

Saturday night the fun didn't stop. Our student-run improve comedy group, The Skits O'Frenicks performed an amazingly hilarious two our show. The End-Zone was packed—not a single seat left in the house. The show was wildly successful, and to close out a day and night of amazing programs we relaxed with the movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off in the End Zone.

Sunday was our 9th annual Gael Guts competition. Gael Guts is our annual field competition between all of our different residence halls. In a competitive battle, this year's Gael Guts champions went to first year residence hall, Loftus Hall!
