St. Patrick's Day Parade

Iona College has a rich tradition of marching in the NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade each year. Come celebrate with fellow Iona students, alumni, family and friends and show your Iona pride as we march up Fifth Avenue behind the Iona College Pipe Band!

Please remember, only students registered to march before Spring Break will be permitted to march in the Parade so don't delay!

Where?:
Our location in the city where we will line up is: W 45th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue, between door number 50 and 6th Avenue

When?:
Plan to arrive before 11:40 am



The NYC St. Patrick's Day Committee has the following regulations for all groups that march in the parade. In order to make this a fun and safe experience for everyone, please adhere to the following rules:

  1. Nobody is to be let into the line of march once we enter onto to parade route on 5th Ave. This means no one can join us from the sidewalk. If people are interested in marching the must arrive at the designated prior to their groups step-off time.
  2. Only 10 people in a row across (no more, no less). Please listen to the line marshal's instructions*, stay in line and maintain an orderly fashion.
  3. NO alcoholic consumption before or during the parade!
  4. No jeans, no sneakers, no green plastic hats, "Dr. Seuss" hats, shamrock glass, garland, beads etc.
  5. Remember you are representing Iona College and must act respectful and appropriate.
    **Line Marshal's will be designated by a flower on their lapel and are representatives of the Gaelic Society and Alumni Association.**

Please note: Anyone who does not adhere to these rules will not be allowed to march.
