The American Chemical Society recognizes student affiliate chapters that are effective in showing the true light of chemistry and how it plays a role in our daily lives. They also strive for affiliate chapters to get involved with young students and show them how fun and interesting chemistry may be hoping that they will consider it as a major of study when they do venture to college. It is the Iona Chemical society's mission to unite sciences students with the transforming power of chemistry, hoping that the club will feel more like a family, where younger undergraduate students can look up to juniors or senior science majors for advice and help on how to succeed and be less stressful.
