Psychology Club

Welcome to the official home page of the Psychology Club here at Iona College. The club meets twice a month at noon in Doorley Hall. The meetings consist of planning upcoming events as well as discussions in various fields of psychology and how they relate to college students. Please read the mission statement in order to get a strong understanding of what the club is really all about.

Mission Statement:

The Psychology Club of Iona College promotes interest, learning, and advancement in the field of psychology. We hope to spread awareness about current issues and to create opportunities for members to further their participation in the field. We invite all students to join, whether Psychology majors or not!

Upcoming Events to Get Psyched About:

  • Club meetings with special discussion topics, including The Psychology Behind Comfort Foods, Personality, and the Undecided Voter
  • Movie Nights- A great way for members to meet each other and to discuss psychology-related movies
  • A special presentation by YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities. YAI is an award-winning agency for people with developmental and learning disabilities. They present to our club each year about certain careers within the broad field of psychology and inform us about internships!
  • Iona professors discussing internship opportunities around Iona College
  • Make free stress balls for students the week before finals
  • Community Service Activities
  • Attendance at informative events during Alcohol Awareness Week
  • Planning to sponsor an Iona team for an Autism Walk at Jones Beach!
