Iona Radio (WICR)

WICR is a student-media organization providing news, music, sports and weather information to all members of the community. Students learn about advertising, public relations, production and accounting. While on campus, tune in to 630 on the AM dial.

College radio is the easiest way for a student to express his or her passion for a particular genre of music, and Iona College Radio (WICR) is a prime example. This past fall, Iona College Radio underwent a complete makeover. From an entire new management team, a massive in flux of new disc jockeys, and a very large turnout from the Class of 2010, Iona College Radio has skyrocketed in popularity among Iona’s student body. With over 50 proud members, Iona College Radio has become an awesome success. With music ranging from Hip-Hop, R &B, Pop, Country, Rock, Alternative, Dance, Trance and House to Sports, Iona College Radio has something for everyone.

Iona College’s extra-curricular organizations have opened their arms to the station by allowing it to render the music for the all sorts of campus occasions. Iona College Radio has utilized its skills for events such as Homecoming, Winter Formals, and various themed Holiday Events. "[I] can’t wait until Monday nights to listen to Late Night Snack; the show is so hilarious," Freshman Satin Windrow says. This is an example of Iona College and WICR Radio combining forces to bring enjoyment to students both on and off campus.
