Asian Student Association

Our mission is to increase awareness and educate the Iona community about Asian cultures. We hope to give Asian students at Iona an anchor point and a place for incoming students to integrate into the new environment with support and ease. ASA is devoted to preserve and promote Asian cultures. We plan to increase awareness of our diverse language, culture, and history through hosting social events, educational events, cultural events, and community service.

Mission:

We try to create an anchor point for Asian students at Iona College, especially for incoming students to integrate into the new environment with support and ease. ASA is devoted to preserve and promote the various Asian cultures. We plan to increase awareness of our diverse language, culture, and history through hosting social events, educational events, cultural events, and community service.



Meetings:
ASA holds weekly meetings on Tuesdays at Noon in Vitanza Commons (Spellman Cafeteria) near the sofas. We are always welcoming new members!


Recent ASA events include:

  • Cupid’s Fest – a Valentine’s Day comedy
  • Henna Tattooing
  • Movie and Game Nights
  • Stride Walk for Diabetes
  • St. Jude Children’s Hospital Fundraiser
