The objectives of the Hellenic Society shall have three purposes: Social, Cultural, and Religious. They shall be to gather in social events, to foster true Hellenic culture on the campus and join in religious events. All of these purposes shall be of benefit to both the members of the Hellenic Society and of the Iona College community.

Hellenic Society meetings for next year will be on the second floor of LaPenta in Conference room 1

Events:
- Hellenic Society's Annual Cultural Greek Night - A social dance where Iona's community can open their eyes to a new experience and see Greek culture at its best. It was very successful last year and will be held again in the spring. The proceeds will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
- Baseball Acropolis - A wiffle-ball tournament that fundraises for a non-profit organization that has been bringing baseball to Greece for the past 10 years. http://www.baseballacropolis.org/
There will be another wiffle-ball tournament again in the spring.
- Movie Nights We have also hosted a Greek Movie night where we showed the movie 300 in the End Zone of LaPenta Student Union to the Iona Community. We look forward to having other movie nights in the future. We are looking into having a movie night during the week of Valentines Day this coming February.
- Toy Drive - The Hellenic Society organized a toy drive this spring for an Iona family whose house burnt down. The event was very successful, receiving over 130 toys and books. We are hoping to find another cause this fall to sponsor a Toy Drive for another family in need.
Events we have participated in:
- The Cross Multi-Cultural Cup which was hosted by the Italian Society. The Hellenic Society is very proud to say that they won the soccer tournament in 2008!
- The Greek Independence Day parade in NYC in 2008 and 2009. We have plans to participate once again this year!
