Deeply rooted in the history of the College, the group was founded in 1940 on the ideals of the Congregation of Christian Brothers. The Knights are dedicated members of the Iona Community, bound together by their motto: “Friendship flourishes through good deeds.” We believe that community is fostered when people come together for the common good. The Tara Knights Society hosts an annual campus wide event —Hands Around Iona. The proceeds sponsor the Christian Brothers and their work with school children in Freetown, Sierra Leone. This year, the Knights were able help send 30 children to primary and junior secondary school. Executive Board Members include: Br.
