The Iona Chapter and the rest of the organization believe young people can have fun and develop positive personal relationships without putting themselves at risk. We believe in promoting positive alternatives that avoid the distraction and danger of alcohol and other drugs.

Ionas SADD Chapter is a new club on campus, starting off with a successful Spring 09 semester. Some activities weve held on campus include the following:

  • Keychain to My Heart: free keychain Nooner reminding us of loved ones who would not want us not to drink and drive
  • Learning with Lemons: A Diversity Program in conjunction with the Success Center and its students
  • IC Facts: promoting a safe Spring Break with the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Committee
  • Right Choice, Right Consequence Barbeque: providing a safe campus alternative with the AOD Committee

We have also co-sponsored many events on campus and have worked alongside other organizations such as the AOD Committee, Education Club, and Campus Ministries.

SADD recently won the Most Outstanding New Organization Award at the 2009 GAEL Awards!

Ionas SADD Chapter is also available for peer mediation. Feel free to contact any one of the executive board members via e-mail. We are all students, and we are all here to help.

All are welcome to join! Contact our President, Catherine Lusardi for more information. Join SADD, make a difference!
