This $12 million, 41,000 square foot Georgian-brick facility was completed in August of 2005. It features a bookstore, commons/lounge areas, a food court, a bistro, a state-of-the-art media center and offices for student services and campus organizations.

The purpose of the Robert V. LaPenta '67, '00H Student Union situated centrally on campus, is to provide Iona students expanded and enhanced dining and social opportunities, and to broaden their perspectives through increased participation in clubs and organizations. The Student Union is the direct result of Robert V. LaPenta's (Iona Class of 1967) tremendous generosity to the College in the amount of $6 million.
