This track is designed to provide an interactive educational experience to students with leadership abilities to encourage them to reach their potential as leaders on campus and in the community. A limited number of students will be selected to participate in this program based on a nomination and application process. This will be a co-curricular leadership development series.

This is an initiative to be led by the Office of Student Development however will coordinate the efforts of the various departments both within and outside of the Division of Student Life by using resources of people and programs in existence and gathering a targeted audience and discussing issues of personal and organizational leadership with them. The program consists of a weekend retreat and weekly to bi-weekly seminars focusing on character and leadership development.

What Do I Have To Do As An Emerging Leader?

Students who are selected to be a part of the Emerging Leaders Program will be expected to:

• Attend all designated workshops.
• Attend the Emerging Leaders Retreat.
• Complete a resume.
• Attend the Spring Awards ceremony where you will be recognized with a COMPASS Certificate.
• Become actively involved in one recognized club or organization on campus.
• Bring a positive attitude and collaborative spirit to each session!

At the completion of the program, Emerging Leaders will be encouraged to:

• Take on an active role with the COMPASS Leadership Series by presenting and/or recruiting new members.
• Run for an officer position or take on a leadership role within a recognized campus club/organization.
