Annual Leadership Conference

Navigating Through Your Leadership Journey

The Leadership Conference is open to all Iona students interested in learning more about themselves as a leader and exploring their leadership potential. It is one of the many ways we strive to fulfill the College mission of creating "ethical and skilled decision makers committed to justice, peace, and service."

Through participation in the conference, students will take part in a keynote presentation and then rotate through a series of workshops that will expose them to various concepts of leadership that is purposeful and holistic. The workshops will assist students in becoming more aware of themselves and the role they play within their community and ultimately enable one to develop their unique leadership style.

This year's conference theme is "Navigating Through Your Leadership Journey" where students will be introduced to three key leadership topics based off of the CAS Standards of Leadership Development.

  • Leadership Development: Understands that leadership is a process rather than a position; Acknowledges that leadership is relational; Understands that everyone has a leadership capacity; etc.
  • Wellness: Chooses behaviors and environments that promote health and reduce risk; articulate the relationship between health and wellness and accomplishing life long goals; Exhibits behaviors that advance a healthy community, etc.
  • Appreciating Diversity: Understands ones own identity and culture; Seeks involvement with people different from oneself; Seeks involvement in diverse interests, etc.

The Leadership Conference is open to all Iona College full-time undergraduate day students at no charge on a first come, first serve registration basis.
