The neighborhood
The “Queen City of the Sound” is the second largest in Westchester County, and is steeped in history. The Thomas Paine National Historical Association is a short walk away. This association is one of the oldest in the US and is dedicated to the life, times and works of Thomas Paine, one of the preeminent founders of our country. New Rochelle was also home to artist Norman Rockwell and was the setting for The Dick Van Dyke Show, in which Dick Van Dyke played Rob Petrie, a New York comedy writer. Looking for local entertainment, dining or shopping opportunities? New Rochelle and its surrounding communities offer a host of options. Need overnight accommodations for parent or campus visits? There are many to choose from! Iona is also only 20 miles north of Manhattan – a quick train ride on the nearby Metro North rail line will get you to the entertainment capital of the world.
