GAEL EXPRESS: IONA COLLEGE SHUTTLE SERVICE

Iona College will continue the Gael Express Shuttle Service for the upcoming academic year, 2013-14, but will suspend a previously announced $55/student annual fee. The College initiated the shuttle in prior years when students resided at the Marriott Residence In. High Fall 2013 enrollment projections opened campus housing at the Marriott Residence Inn and the College will therefore fund the service.

The fee will be returned via a credit on student accounts. Recall that previously the shuttle between campus, the New Rochelle train station and the Residence Inn had tentatively been removed from the College's budget for the upcoming year because students were no longer housed in the Marriott after the opening of East Hall. The Administration worked with the Student Government Association and the Budget Committee to put a revised plan in place to retain the Gael Express with the added student fee. While the fee will be covered by the College for the 2013-14 year, its future will be determined as plans for the 2014-15 year are made.

Gael Express Information and Frequently Asked Questions:

• 2 - 12 passenger Vans (11 available seats for riders each trip)
• All van operators are NY State Certified campus safety and security officers
• Use of the van is FREE
• All you need to board is to show your Iona College ID card
• All students (residents, commuters, graduate students are eligible to ride the shuttle)
• Seats are on a first come first serve basis for students.
• Seats may not be reserved
• Seats are not guaranteed
• Guests are not permitted to use the shuttle
• EMPLOYEES are able to ride the shuttle if there are available seats. Spaces are for students first regardless of first come, first serve basis.
• If Classes are cancelled the Gael Express will still be in operation weather and safety permitting.
• There may be times where the shuttle will run on a reduced or altered schedule.
• The Campus Safety and Security Officer has the right to refuse access or remove a passenger from the van.
• The Shuttle will only pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations.
