Question: Do parents stay with the students in the residence halls?
Answer: No, the residence halls are strictly for students. Please go here for local off campus accommodations, if needed.
Question: What time do the parent sessions end on day one?
Answer: Parent sessions on day one ends approximately at 3:30 pm (Breakfast and lunch are served).
Question: What time do I pick up my child on day two?
Answer: Day two is for students only and pick up time is at 2:30 pm.
Question: Is it mandatory for commuters to stay overnight at the summer orientation?
Answer: Yes, as part of experiencing the Iona College Community the overnight orientations are for all incoming freshmen students including commuter students
Question: What time does the orientation start?
Answer: Move in time at Loftus Hall is between 8:00 am 9:00 am; check in is in Mulcahy gym and will begin promptly at 9:30 am. (Continental breakfast is available)
Question: What time does the orientation end on day two?
Answer: The orientation should end at approximately 2:30 pm.
Question: Can my child request a specific roommate?
Answer: No. We would like the student to meet new people and begin to build community.
Question: Can I receive my orientation date of choice?
Answer: We do try to accommodate everyone with their choice of dates. Please note the orientation request is on a first come, first serve basis. Please go online and register as soon as possible to ensure your first choice.

Answer: No, but it is highly recommended. The parent session on day one ends at approximately 3:30 pm.
Question: When does my son/daughter make their schedule?
Answer: Freshmen schedules are made by the registrar and advisors; if any changes are needed this will be done during the first day of orientation.
Question: What is the CAP program?
Answer:
CAP stands for the "College Assistance Program"; students in this program are accepted at the beginning of their admissions process.
Questions: Do I return the Housing Contract if my son/daughter is a commuter?
Answer: Yes, the housing contract is used for the overnight orientation only.
