"It just felt right - I knew the minute I set foot on campus."

To set up a visit to Iona, register online or call our Campus Visit Coordinator, Liz English at 914-633-2622.

Visiting a college campus is a central part of choosing the right college. Many, many college students say that they knew that their college was exactly the right place the moment they set foot on campus.

There are several ways to visit Iona and each visit serves a different purpose.

You can drive through. You will see the campus, and can walk around, but don't really have the chance to talk with anyone from the college. This type of visit is "under the radar," in that you don't have to invest yourself in the visit.

You can attend an Open House. During an Open House, you have the chance to visit with a large number of other people. You will have the chance to take a group tour, talk to faculty and students, and hear about admissions and financial aid. You will have some of your questions answered, but perhaps not all of them.

Information Session and Tour.  This is our most popular type of visit.  It provides general information about Iona in a small group environment, and a time to ask questions.  The group tour is led by a current student.  After the tour, it is possible to have an individual meeting with an Admissions Counselor.  (Because of space limitations, we ask that you make an appointment to attend an information session by calling Liz English at 914-633-2622.)

If you are a transfer student, you can schedule an appointment with a transfer counsleor either in place of the general information session, prior to the session, or after the tour.  We will be happy to discuss your transfer credits, our programs, the admission process as it applies to transfers, or any questions you might have about Iona.  Please call (914) 633-2502 to arrange your meeting and tour with a transfer counselor.

Spend-a-days allow accepted students to spend a day with an Iona student and see the College in the greatest detail. Spend-a-days include sitting in on your host's classes.  Spend-a-days are limited to accepted students.

Finally, we sometimes request that students who have applied for admission come in for an interview.  When we do, don't worry - we simply want to get to know you better.  Sometimes, we want to learn more about your time in school or more about an activity in which you have been involved.  Regardless, just talk!  We will ask some questions, but the whole idea is that we will know more about you at the end.  That works better if you are willing to tell us your story.

A special note to Students from Westchester and the Bronx:
We often hear local students say "I know Iona - I've been by it" or "I know someone who goes there." The other thing we hear is "I was so surprised when I visited the campus. It is so beautiful!  I had no idea that the campus was so nice."  Please take the time to come see Iona; we think you will like what you see.
