New Rochelle, NY (September 24, 2015) Iona College senior Ashley Hubaykah, has been selected as an intern at the United Nations in New York City.
The department of International Studies has partnered with Edmund Rice International (ERI) to place, for the first time, an intern officially affiliated with ERI.
A graduate of Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa Florida, a school in the ERCBNA consortium, Hubaykah is currently majoring in international studies and religious studies. Her matriculation at Iona College has been made possible by the award of an Edmund Rice Scholarship. This past summer Hubaykah was a paid intern at Catholic Relief Services in Baltimore, Maryland.
Hubaykah will be designing her curriculum for the UN portion of her program. She will be working with Br. Kevin Cawley, CFC, PhD, and Executive Director of the Thomas Berry Forum for Ecological Dialogue, and Tricia Mulligan, Ph.D., associate provost for Strategic Academic Initiatives and associate professor, Political Science & International Studies.
