New Rochelle, NY (September 16, 2013) President Joseph E. Nyre announced today that the 2014 Iona College undergraduate commencement keynote speaker will be His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan. The ceremony will take place on May 17, 2014. The location and other details about commencement will be shared in coming months.
In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI named Cardinal Dolan Archbishop of New York and, in 2013, appointed him to the College of Cardinals. In 2010, Cardinal Dolan was elected president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. He was Archbishop of Milwaukee from 2002 to 2009, preceded by service as an Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis from 2001 to 2002.
