New Rochelle, NY (August 27) Approximately 1,400 students have successfully moved into campus residence halls, as the fall semester has officially begun at Iona College. Over 200 students volunteered their time to help freshmen move into the residence halls, followed by a welcome Mass and "Sweet Send-Off" Parents Reception.
Local business owners also look forward to the return of Iona’s more than 3,800 total undergraduate and graduate students.
Recently opened Gemelli’s will offer services to students for its first full year. Manager Nicholas Mancini says, “Iona students and faculty have been a main key to North Avenues success from the business side. Without Iona being in session, North Avenue isn’t the same.”
Blackboard Pizza owner Vincent Gentile says he is excited and ready for a lot of work: “During the school year, things get wild. But it’s an organized chaos.”
