Iona Announces $150 Million Campaign

Iona Forever is College’s largest fundraising endeavor to date

New Rochelle, NY, 9/19/15 – This evening, Iona College announced the public launch of its Iona Forever campaign, the largest fundraising endeavor in the College’s 75-year history.  The announcement comes on a day of international service celebrating Iona’s founding.
“Today we pay tribute to our mission, reflect on our beginnings, and look toward our vision for the future,” said College President Joseph E. Nyre, Ph.D., addressing a crowd of supporters at an on-campus event commemorating the day 75 years ago that Iona College was founded.
Iona’s Board of Trustees, Campaign Cabinet, alumni and friends have raised more than $61.4 million in philanthropic support during the quiet phase of Iona Forever. This extraordinary commitment underscores the belief in the critical importance of the campaign to the future of Iona College.
The campaign is a transformational endeavor that will:
• create additional student scholarships
• advance world-class faculty and academic programs
• enhance learning and living environments
The Iona Forever campaign is a key component of the College’s comprehensive five-year strategic plan developed in 2012. "The Iona Forever campaign is transformational for the College. The campaign will tear down barriers to affordability with student scholarships, endow great faculty and programs, and enhance key learning environments," said President Nyre.
“Iona Forever is an exciting opportunity for our young college – young in the world of higher education -- to focus on the key tenants of what makes us great: our students and our faculty,” said Paul J. Sutera, senior vice president for Advancement & External Affairs. “It will provide the necessary resources for students, faculty and programs to continue to move the world in life and the career aspirations of our Iona community. We look forward to engaging our more than 40,000 alumni in sharing their Iona story. Iona Forever is the fuel for realizing our ambitious strategic plan.”
