New Rochelle, NY (September 19, 2015) Iona College kicked off a weekend of service on Friday, September, 18 with a campus-wide Ice Bucket Challenge. Over 250 students gathered at the LaPenta Student Union and on the hill by East Hall to support and raise awareness for ALS research.
Iona students came together as a community to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which was co-created by Iona alum Pat Quinn. Quinn made a special appearance to give a few inspiring words and his challenges and goals that he has faced while battling ALS.
Donations were also collected for Quinn For The Win, Pat's foundation which raises awareness of ALS and support many fundraising and philanthropic events pertaining to ALS.
This event was sponsored by the Tara Knights Society, Office of Student Development, Office of Mission and Ministry in collaboration with Advancement and Athletics.
