This January, 72 Iona College students, staff, faculty and alumni will participate in six Iona in Mission immersion trips across the world to serve and learn, in some cases on the margins of society.

The Iona groups will partner with the global Edmund Rice family in India, Ireland, Peru and South Africa. Domestically, Iona groups will serve with long-standing College partners at Nazareth Farm, W. Va.,  and the Pilgrimage in Washington, D.C.

The first-ever alumni immersion to Cape Town, South Africa, will partner with the Edmund Rice Justice Desk through service and education with a  variety of community organizations while exploring the historical and cultural richness of South African society.

"Please keep these Gaels in your thoughts and prayers as they strive to live Blessed Edmund Rice’s commitment to the poor and marginalized," Coordinator of Iona in Mission Stephen Hill said.
