Gael Runner Makes World History in Mile

Liam Dee '18
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Iona College men's indoor track performer Liam Dee '18 made world history this weekend when he finished the mile run in 3:58.19, eclipsing the four-minute standard for the first time in his career.
In July 1991, Dee's father Billy ran a 3:59.17. The duo became the first British father-son pair to break the four-minute mark in the mile event and ninth in the history of the world. The younger Dee's time was the second fastest, and fifth-ever sub four-mile in Iona history.
