Iona College and Seton Hall University Law School have created a combined admission program for undergraduate and law school, allowing talented incoming students to plan both their bachelor’s degree and studies in law.
Seton Hall Law is one of the most prestigious programs in the nation, ranked in the top 75 by U.S. News and World Report
. Many innovative programs have been initiated at Seton Hall Law School, including a nationally acclaimed Health Law & Policy Program.
“This new arrangement will benefit Iona students who are interested in studying law at one of the finest institutions in the nation,” said Iona’s Vincent Calluzzo, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs. “We look forward to seeing our students aim for and achieve such a prestigious law degree. We’re pleased that Iona and Seton Hall, two Catholic institutions with similar missions and traditions, have launched this cooperative arrangement.”
Prospective students will be able to apply either for an accelerated bachelor’s (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science) and JD (Juris Doctor degree) program, three years each, or a dual-admission/guaranteed admission program of four years and three year respectively. Aimed at highly qualified high school seniors and graduates enrolling as first-time, full-time Iona students, students must satisfy both prerequisites and maintain a specific grade average and course schedule during their undergraduate study.
“We are extraordinarily pleased to partner with Iona College,” said Seton Hall Law Dean Kathleen M. Boozang. “Iona graduates bring to Seton Hall Law strong preparation and a great work ethic – the exact combination necessary for success in law school.”
The program will begin with Iona first-year students admitted for the fall 2017 term. For more information about applying, contact Iona’s Office of Enrollment Management at 914-633-2502 (800-231-IONA or email@example.com
