The Iona College community extends prayers and heartfelt concern for those who have family and loved ones in the Texas and Louisiana areas that have been affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey.
Mission and Ministry and the Student Government Association invite you to join the Iona College campus community at a prayer service for victims of Hurricane Harvey tomorrow, Thursday, August 31, at 4:30 p.m.
under the Gingko tree.
As we pray for the health and safety of all those affected, we also encourage members of the community to respond in ways that might make a difference for the thousands of people displaced by the storm.
We invite you to consider making a donation to Catholic Charities
or the American Red Cross
. Both organizations are working night and day to provide shelter, meals and dry clothing for the thousands who are seeking their assistance. Iona will continue to monitor the impact of Hurricane Harvey and determine ways we might support our brothers and sisters in the Houston area as the rescue and recovery efforts progress.
Please see the websites below that provide directions on how to make a donation:
The Iona Community has a long tradition of responding generously to people in need.
Thank you in advance.
