Presidential Search Process
Iona College, a private, comprehensive Catholic college founded in 1940 by the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers will celebrate its 80th year in 2020. With a diverse and welcoming community, Iona invites applications and nominations for the position of College President to follow the successful presidency of Dr. Joseph E. Nyre who becomes President of Seton Hall University on August 1, 2019.
The ninth President of Iona College will join an institution on the rise, with the recent launch of the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, the appointment of a nationally recognized Provost, groundbreaking for the new LaPenta School of Business, new academic programs, growth of the endowment to nearly $150 million, and funding for newly endowed positions, there is an exciting momentum at Iona and an ideal leadership opportunity for its next president.
The Presidential Search Advisory Committee was seated in February 2019 and continued its work through May 2019 with the appointment of Dr. Seamus Carey.
