Arranging for Note Takers
Students with appropriate documentation are entitled to receive notes from each of their classes. Students must have the documentation on file with the Samuel Rudin Academic Resource Center (SRARC). Please see below for contact information.
In order to implement the service in a timely manner, students must email the Director of the SRARC at least one week prior to each semester and must notify the director of changes in enrollment. The email must specify each class and each instructor.
Upon verification of the legitimacy of the request, the SRARC will email each student in courses specified to recruit note takers. The students seeking accommodation will not be identified. If no note taker is identified after one week, the SRARC will reach out to the instructor for assistance. If no note taker is identified after two weeks, the SRARC will assign a tutor to be a note taker.
Notes will either be emailed to the director or copies will be dropped off at the SRARC. They will be made available to the students.
After one month, the SRARC emails student to check on the quality of the service.
If students identify note takers on their own, then the SRARC does not recruit note takers and does not distribute notes.
