Christoph Winkler is the endowed professor and founding program director of the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He holds a dual faculty appointment in the School of Arts & Science and the School of Business. Dr. Winkler received his Ph.D. in educational psychology from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) and comes to Iona with a reputation as a gifted educator with extensive experience in developing and managing entrepreneurship programs. He presently serves also as vice president of research at the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).

Prior to joining Iona College, Dr. Winkler served as an entrepreneurship faculty member and academic director at the Long Island University (LIU) Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He was also on the faculty of Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, where he served as the associate director of the CUNY Institute for Virtual Enterprise and director for Technology, Innovation and Research at the CUNY Center for Student Entrepreneurship.

Jarlyne Batista

Jarlyne Batista is the coordinator of the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Jarlyne obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College with a concentration in Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management. Her background stems from working within higher education institutions and building alongside local startup companies.

Before joining the Hynes Institute team, Jarlyne developed creative content and outreach strategies for several programs within student engagement initiatives at the City College of New York. She has worked closely with startups – coordinating events, blogging, social media planning and designing promotional materials. Jarlyne also led graphic communication efforts at the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship at Baruch College.
