School of Business Graduate Certificate Programs
Certificate programs are an ideal option for students ready to take the next step toward furthering their education. Are you interested in a graduate business degree, but not yet certain that it's time to take the leap? Did you complete a graduate degree a while ago, and now you'd like to add new knowledge and skills to your toolkit? Or are you simply interested in taking a few courses in a targeted subject area? Iona's graduate business certificates can satisfy any of these needs.
A certificate can be done on a stand-alone basis or can be taken in conjunction with our MBA. These programs typically consist of four to five courses (12-15 credits) and can be completed at whatever pace you prefer (as little as two trimesters/six months).
Business (12 credits)
The new Business certificate allows students to choose any four graduate courses in business and earn their certificate in six - 12 months. This program is ideal for any professional – whether you are looking to update or enhance existing business skills, add new skills to your offerings, test out our program before committing to a full master's degree, or simply continue your pursuit of lifelong learning.
Business Continuity and Risk Management (12 credits)
The Business Continuity and Risk Management certificate provides students with the knowledge to lead an organization in making systematic decisions that protect people, assets and operations. In today's world, it is increasingly difficult to ensure the survivability of an organization. This certificate will prepare you to help your organization better prepare for the unknown and unexpected. Students can take courses in topics such as risk, disaster and business continuity management, decision technology, systems security, crisis leadership, and business resiliency, among others.
Health Care Management (12 credits)
The goal of the Health Care Management Certificate program is to prepare students for careers in health care, a critically important and rapidly growing sector. Students can take courses in topics such as health care industry analysis, health care management, ambulatory care management, long term care management, and health care finance, among others.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation (15 credits)
The Advanced Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Innovation is a new program at Iona College that gives graduate students the opportunity to explore their entrepreneurial potential and help them develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Students will be able to take a series of courses that guide them through the development of an entrepreneurial venture, including ideation, design thinking, business modeling, and financing. The graduate certificate culminates with a capstone "studio course" where students are able to launch their entrepreneurial ventures and innovations.
