Dr. Christina Andruk is a plant biologist and restoration ecologist. She studies how humans impact the environment and the management techniques needed to restore ecosystem function and resilience. Dr. Andruk is particularly interested in how climate change, changes to disturbance regimes, and invasive species interact to impact native plant diversity. Her past research has focused on how fire and overabundant deer effect hardwood regeneration in woodlands. She is currently interested in developing effective management techniques to control invasive species and restore native plants in  riparian ecosystems in partnership with local conservation organizations.
