National Science Foundation S-STEM Program

Iona College has been awarded funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to recruit, support and retain undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry and Computer Science. The award will support economically disadvantaged students with high academic aptitude, for scholarships in Chemistry and Computer Science, through the Iona College Development of Excellence in Science through Intervention, Resilience, and Enrichment (DESIRE) Program.

Student Success: Samantha Zurbriggen '22

Samantha Zurbriggen

As an Honors Program student Samantha has seized the opportunity of being part of a community with caring and dedicated professors to conduct research with Sunghee Lee, Ph.D., Board of Trustees Endowed Professor. Samantha is also a Clare Boothe Luce (CBL) Research Scholar which means “…having more resources and funding to do research and get some first-hand experience working in a laboratory.”
