Faculty to Receive Award and Present at Gang Specialist Training Conference
David T. Mulcahy, adjunct professor, has been nominated for The Frederick Milton Trasher Award in recognition of his superior service in the field of probation and parole services. The Thrasher Award was established by the Journal of Gang Research, the official journal publication of the National Gang Crime Research Center, to honor and recognize superior scholarship, leadership, accomplishments and service contributions by individuals and programs in dealing with criminal justice and public safety issues. The Committee bases its selection on a individual and/or program that exemplifies the blending of academic excellence and professional service in the field. The award is presented annually and will be presented this year at the 18th International Gang Specialist Training Conference, taking place August 10-12, in Chicago, Ill.
Professors Mulcahy and Cathryn Lavery, Ph.D., were invited to present tat this year's training conference and will be conducting the presentation, “Effectively Collaborating with Multi-Agencies in the Supervision and Management of Gang Offenders.”
