Susan Gordon Ryan
Susan Gordon Ryan is living with polio she contracted at 18 months. She volunteered to tell her story of growing up with the disease and becoming a supremely respected practitioner in the field of special needs. From being told that she could not enter the local public school in 1955 because other students may catch what she had (polio) to being the driving force and originator of the now 30+ year magnificent Games for the Disabled, which has been supported by every political administration since its inception. Susan and her husband, Frank, have truly been both pioneers and movers and shakers in the field of special needs populations throughout their lives.
