On March 16 Iona College Graduate student Dan Liang successfully presented her work "Being and Becoming" at the American College Dance Association (ACDA) North-East conference at The College at Brockport (SUNY). Her piece, which has been a year-long process and also includes an article which will be published as part of Liang’s graduate work, focused on the exploration of somatics (techniques based on the dancer’s internal sensation). Dr. Hannah Park, assistant professor of Dance, mentored Liang both on the choreography as well as the article throughout the year. Each year, Iona College encourages select dance-minors to participate in the ACDA’s North-East conference and Liang’s presentation is yet another milestone in this tradition.
