Br, Joseph Morgan joined the Department of history in 1989. He received his B.A. from Iona College, his M.A. from Manhattan College, and his Ph.D. in History from Georgetown University. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in world and American history at Iona.
Before being hired at Iona, Brother Morgan taught at Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, RI, and at Iona Grammar and Sacred Heart elementary schools in New York State. Br. Morgan's field is in United States history, especially in American foreign relations. He has written about the Vietnam War in The Vietnam Lobby: The American Friends of Vietnam, 1955-1975 (1997) and in his most recent article "A Meeting in Tokyo: Komatsu Kiyoshi, Wesley Fishel, and America's Intervention in Vietnam," in the Journal of American-East Asian Relations (2013).
