Five Year Dual Degree
BA/MA in Mass Communication with a Concentration in Public Relations
Students may complete both their bachelor and masters degrees in five years, as a part of our dual degree program in Public Relations. Our graduate program is the only public relations-centered program between Boston and Washington that meets the demanding standards of the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. The program provides rigorous training, centered on proven business principles and consulting models, in traditional, small-class seminars as well as fully on-line courses. Students may specialize in corporate communications, non-profit communications, or sports and entertainment public relations, and will gain practical experience with corporations, agencies and media outlets.
Students wishing to take advantage of this program option must be declared majors in the Public Relations concentration of the Mass Communication Major, and have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and 3.2 major grade point average in order to apply for this program. Students in this program will complete a total of 18 credits of graduate Public Relations Courses, as advised, as a part of their undergraduate degree, and will work closely with the Program Director throughout their program of study. Please contact Dr. Jack Breslin, our Graduate Program Director, for further information about the Five Year Dual Degree program, by writing him at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the Mass Communication Department at (914) 633-2229.
