Dr. Gerometta is an assistant professor in the Speech Communication Studies Department at Iona College. She is a faculty research associate with the Center for Social Research on Iona’s campus, and a certified service-learning educator. Dr. Gerometta incorporates service-learning in courses where possible and appropriate in the liberal arts core. She facilitates and mentors undergraduate research on campus. Dr. Gerometta is currently the Communication Studies subject editor of the American Journal of Undergraduate Research

Research Interests

Network analysis of the developing mental lexicon, infant and child speech perception, role of caregiver speech in language development, and the role of phonotactic probabilities in language acquisition.
