Maria Armiento-DeMaria MA, CCC-SLP, TSHH

Clinical Background: Maria Armiento-DeMaria is the clinic director for the Iona College Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic. Maria is an experienced clinician in the areas of administrative-, medical- and school-setting professional roles. As the clinic director, she manages the day-to-day operations and the development of policy and procedures for the teaching clinic along with the clinical programing for the Speech Communication Studies Department.

Maria's clinical profile includes working with both children and adults in the home, school and medical settings. Her clinical experience working with children include conducting evaluations and treatment with various disabilities and syndromes for AAC, cognition, English language learners, executive functioning, feeding difficulties, literacy, and speech disabilities. Her clinical experience working with adults include swallowing/dysphagia, cognitive-communication and various neurological disorders.

Currently, Maria continues to practice in a hospital setting primarily in a traumatic brain injury unit, and in a school setting conducting evaluations and treatment.
