New curriculum effective Fall 2018!

Program Description

  • Most students with a business background can complete the Master of Science in Finance by taking 12 courses (36 credits).
  • Designed to prepare students for careers in a variety of finance-related functions. 
  • Students enjoy field trips each year to such places as the United Nations, the Department of Economic and Social Development, stock exchanges, or the Federal Reserve, as well as New York City’s Financial District.
  • Students also benefit from Iona’s active and engaged alumni population in finance-related professions.

Required and Elective Courses (12 total):

  • FIN 675: Corporate Financial Strategy
  • FIN 610: Financial Markets and Institutions
  • FIN 640: Investment Analysis
  • FIN 625: Financial Futures, Options, and Swaps
  • Students also select eight (8) other courses from an approved list of electives in finance and other disciplines.

Calendar

  • Trimester schedule
  • Three hours, one evening a week
  • Entry terms: fall, winter, spring or summer
  • Application deadline: rolling admissions
  • Average courseload per term: two 3-credit courses (6 credits)

Average time to completion: 18 months if part-time, 12 months if full-time
