Moving the world as a two-time alumna
A two-time Information Systems graduate from the School of Business, Caitlin Mitchell '11, '13MBA admits that she originally applied to Iona without having prior knowledge of the school other than the fact that her parents are Iona alumni. However, it did not take her long after submitting her application to realize that Iona was the perfect place for her too.
When searching for the right college, some of the main characteristics that were important to Caitlin were small class sizes where she would be known as an individual, degrees which resulted in jobs for its students, and a place where the professors knew her name and could connect with her on both a personal and professional level. She found these qualities, and more, at Iona.
Even though Caitlin was initially apprehensive to complete the Information Systems classes, she found that she was drawn to the courses because they were challenging and taught her to think in ways that she was never exposed to in other courses before. Caitlin says that choosing Iona as the place to complete both her undergraduate and graduate degree is evidence of the strong passion she feels for the school.
Now an IT business analyst at PepsiCo, Caitlin often returns to Iona to speak to students about corporate internship opportunities. She takes great pride in listening to current students speak about their experience and the countless opportunities that the School of Business offers.
“Iona is a community where you will always feel welcomed, where you will always find a smiling face around campus, and where you can call home. The College provided me with the tools and resources to reach my goals and find myself both as a person and as a professional. The school creates a community of individuals whose lessons and relationships will last long after graduation.”
